Prolite Lounge Trailers for Sale in Barrie & Oro-Medonte

Welcome to Bella Vista RV Centre, your authorized dealer for Prolite—Quebec’s premier manufacturer of ultra-lightweight travel trailers. Located on Highway 11 in Oro-Medonte, near Barrie, we specialize in helping families get out camping without needing to buy a heavy-duty pickup truck.

The Prolite Lounge is our most popular model for a reason. Weighing in at approximately 1,485 lbs (dry), this camper is engineered to be towed by everyday vehicles like the Honda Odyssey, Toyota RAV4, Ford Escape, and Dodge Grand Caravan. Unlike other "lightweight" trailers that still require a truck, the Prolite Lounge truly delivers on the promise of SUV towing, offering a full kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping for three in a package that fits easily into a standard driveway.

Why Choose the Prolite Lounge?

1. True "Minivan Towable" Weight Many manufacturers claim to be lightweight, but Prolite proves it. With a dry weight under 1,500 lbs and a hitch weight of roughly 155-190 lbs, the Lounge puts minimal strain on your vehicle's transmission and suspension. This opens up the world of RVing to thousands of families who want to keep their fuel-efficient daily driver.

2. Canadian Construction (Azdel & Fiberglass) Built in St-Jérôme, Quebec, Prolite understands our climate. The Lounge features a One-Piece Fiberglass Roof, which eliminates the rubber seams found on traditional trailers—the #1 source of leaks. The walls are constructed with Azdel composite panels (instead of wood backing), meaning they are impervious to water, will not rot, and are 50% lighter than wood.

3. Big Features, Small Footprint Despite its compact 15' 10" length, the Lounge doesn't compromise on amenities. It comes equipped with:

  • Permanent Amenities: A 2-burner stove, sink, and fridge.

  • Wet Bath: A private cassette toilet and shower, so you don't have to rely on campground facilities.

  • Smart Sleeping: A front sofa that converts to a double bed (74" x 54") and a rear dinette that converts to a single bed (74" x 36").

4. Prolite Lounge vs. Lounge Eco

We may stock both versions of this popular floorplan. Here is how to tell them apart:

The Prolite Lounge (Standard)

The Fully Equipped Choice.

  • Best For: Travelers who want maximum natural light and storage.

  • Key Upgrades: Typically includes a front window with curtain, additional overhead cabinets for storage, and upgraded exterior graphics.

The Prolite Lounge Eco

The Budget-Friendly Ultra-Lite.

  • Best For: First-time buyers prioritizing weight savings and price.

  • Key Differences: The "Eco" model strips back some non-essential features (like the front window and some cabinetry) to lower the price and shave off roughly 100-150 lbs, making it even easier to tow.

Towing the Prolite Lounge: What You Need to Know

Do I need electric brakes? Yes. The Prolite Lounge comes standard with 10-inch electric brakes. Even though it is light, Ontario law and safety best practices require a functional brake controller in your tow vehicle to ensure safe stopping power, especially on highway off-ramps.

Can I use it in the shoulder seasons? Absolutely. The Lounge is equipped with a powerful 20,000 BTU Furnace. Because the trailer is small and well-insulated with DuroFoam, this furnace heats the space incredibly fast, allowing you to camp comfortably from early spring through late fall.

What is the "Cassette Toilet"? The Lounge uses a cassette toilet system. Instead of a large permanent black tank that requires a sewer hose and dump station, the waste goes into a portable "cassette" tank accessed from a small exterior door. You can simply pull it out and empty it into a standard toilet or outhouse. This is cleaner, easier for winter camping, and allows you to camp in places without full hookups.
