Park Models & Destination Trailers for Sale in Barrie, Ontario

For many families in Simcoe County and the GTA, the dream of owning a cottage in Muskoka feels out of reach. At Bella Vista RV Centre in Barrie Oro-Medonte, we offer a smarter, more affordable solution: the Destination Trailer. Often referred to as "Park Models" or "Cottage Trailers," these massive RVs are designed to be parked at a seasonal campsite or private property for months at a time. They offer the residential luxury of a traditional cottage—sliding glass patio doors, high ceilings, and full-size appliances—without the property taxes and maintenance of a permanent structure.

We are Simcoe County's premier dealer for the Coachmen Catalina Destination Series, a lineup specifically engineered for the Canadian seasonal camper. Located directly on Highway 11, the gateway to cottage country, we are perfectly positioned to help you select and deliver your new summer home to parks in Orillia, Gravenhurst, Parry Sound, and beyond.

Why Buy Your Destination Trailer from Bella Vista RV?

Purchasing a Destination Trailer is different from buying a standard travel trailer. These units are large, often exceeding 40 feet in length and 11,000 lbs in weight. You need a dealership that specializes in the logistics of seasonal camping.

  • Professional Delivery: Most of our customers do not have the heavy-duty trucks required to move these units. Bella Vista RV offers professional delivery and setup services to get your trailer safely to your seasonal lot.

  • Seasonal Connections: We have strong relationships with many of the top RV resorts and parks in the Simcoe and Muskoka regions. We can often help guide you on where to find the perfect spot for your new rig.

  • Mobile Service Support: Because these units are difficult to bring back to the shop, our location on Highway 11 allows us to support our customers effectively throughout the camping season.

Shop by Residential Floorplan Features

Destination Trailers prioritize living space over mobility. When browsing our Catalina inventory, look for these "at-home" features:

  • Loft Models (42CONDO / 44CONDO): The ultimate family layout. These units feature a second-story loft area above the master bedroom or rear den, providing a private "kids' zone" that sleeps 3-4 children comfortably while keeping the main floor open and spacious.

  • Front Living & Dens: Many floorplans mimic residential condos with a dedicated living room featuring free-standing furniture, fireplaces, and 50-inch TVs, separate from the kitchen and dining areas.

  • Residential Appliances: Forget tiny camping fridges. Our Destination Trailers typically come with full-size stainless steel refrigerators, residential ovens, and washer/dryer hookups.

Destination Trailer vs. Park Model: What's the Difference?

This is the most common question we get.

  • Destination Trailers (What We Sell): These are built to RVIA standards. They are under 8.5 feet wide when in transit, meaning they can be towed down the highway without a special "wide load" permit. They have holding tanks (grey/black water) and 12-volt systems, so they can function like a regular RV if power goes out.

  • Traditional Park Models: These are often 10-12 feet wide and require commercial flatbed transport and special permits. They usually have no holding tanks (must be connected to sewer) and no 12-volt battery system.

  • The Advantage: Our Destination Trailers offer the best of both worlds—massive interior space with slide-outs open, but the flexibility to be moved easily if you decide to change campgrounds or resell the unit later.

Frequently Asked Questions About Seasonal Trailers

Do I need a special truck to tow a Destination Trailer? Yes. These units are heavy (often 10,000–13,000 lbs) and long. While a modern one-ton dually diesel truck can tow them, most owners prefer to pay for professional delivery. It removes the stress of navigating tight campground roads with a 40-foot trailer.

Can I use a Destination Trailer in the winter? While they are better insulated than a standard travel trailer, they are generally designed for "3-Season" use (Spring, Summer, Fall). If you plan to use it in late November or early April, we recommend skirting the bottom of the trailer to protect the plumbing and using auxiliary heating sources.

Do these trailers come with furniture? Yes. Unlike a house where you buy the shell and fill it, Destination Trailers come fully furnished with sofas, dining tables, mattresses, and entertainment centers. The furniture is designed to be secured during transport but offers the comfort of residential upholstery.
